The event is taking place Saturday, December 17th and tickets are already sold out. I remember mentioning the holiday party to someone about a month prior and knew we should have jumped at the chance to purchase tickets. There’s always next time!
If you were one of the fortunate souls who secured a ticket, the doors open at 7 pm and the film starts at 9 pm.
The movie screening calls for formal attire, men must wear a jacket and tie. The Cinespia website advertises they will “recreate the Overlook Hotel” and will feature “crystal chandeliers, eerie children’s play room, mirrored powder room” along with bars, DJs, and a photo booth.
I wonder what themes the photo booth will consist of for the screening. Let’s hope they somehow incorporate the iconic hexagon floor design.
Perhaps, the photo-op will allow guests to pose as Jack in the infamous “Here’s Johnny” scene.
The party is for guests 21 and over with a valid ID.
If you’re bummed you missed out on buying tickets for The Shining screening but still want to experience a Cinespia movie event, tickets are still available for their Little Miss Sunshine 10-year reunion. The 10th anniversary celebration will take place at the Palace Theater and doors open at 7:30pm with the film starting at 9pm.
The Shining was released in 1980, is based on the novel with the same name by Stephen King, and is directed by Stanley Kubrick. The story follows writer Jack Torrance (played by Jack Nicholson) and his family as they relocate to the mountains to care for the Overlook Hotel. Things quickly take turn for the worst and evil takes over the hotel.

Cinespia holds movie screenings outdoors at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery during the summer and in downtown Los Angeles during winter.
