That Time Scooby Doo Crossed Over Into Twin Peaks!

Anyone remember that Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated episode that crossed into the Twin Peaks universe? To be fair, I didn’t myself until my little seven-year-old schooled me pretty recently after a delightful Twin Peaks binge on Netflix in preparation for the return of Agent Cooper this damn fine evening, and pointed out he had seen the Man From Another Place in an episode of Scooby-Doo. So naturally, I immediately went to Google and sure as shit there it is. A goddamn Scooby-Doo/Twin Peaks crossover episode.

OH, MY GOD.

In the episode, Scoobs falls asleep and finds himself in the infamous Red Room where he meets the Man From Another Place, who is actually voiced by the iconic little dancer from Cooper’s creep-tastic dreams himself, Michael J. Anderson. However, the funniest bit about this whole thing for me is Velma’s OCD in trying to make sense of the whole damn Twin Peaks universe.  In Velma’s grounded world of Science, such things aren’t possible, and she just can’t seem to wrap her head around the sensical aspect of it all. It’s pretty damn funny in a sense where, for me personally, and I could absolutely be wrong here, is that Velma represents the majority of people who have attempted to watch the Twin Peaks series, but quit fairly early into it with the most popular reason being, “I just didn’t understand it.”  Which of course, is totally fair enough, but is rather something I’ve heard myself more than a few times in the horror world of fans. Just a hamster running through a wheel theory.

Anyway, check out the glorious Scooby-Doo/ Twin Peaks mash-up below and don’t forget to tune into Showtime tonight at 9:00 PM with your cherry pie in hand!
