Stephen Biro of Unearthed Films took to Facebook the other day to provide an update on the next film in the American Guinea Pig series, titled American Guinea Pig: Song of Solomon. The second film – Bloodshock – has been screening at various genre events with a screening scheduled for the upcoming Days of the Dead in Indianapolis.
Meanwhile, Biro has been hard at work on developing the third one, which he seems incredibly excited about. Here’s what he had to say:
For those unfamiliar, the American Guinea Pig series, which began with Bouquet of Guts and Gore (pictured), is an extension of the Japanese Guinea Pig gore films from the mid to late 80s. The films gained particular notoriety when Charlie Sheen famously alerted the FBI after seeing one – Flower of Flesh and Blood – and thinking it was a real snuff film.
Unearthed Films had released the original series as a box set before going on to make their own contributions to it. Bouquet was written and directed by Biro. He wrote Bloodshock, but handed directorial duties over to Marcus Koch, who worked on FX for the former as well as for genre hit We Are Still Here.
Song of Solomon is to begin shooting in July according to previous updates from Biro.
