Joe Lynch’s MAYHEM With Steven Yeun Acquired By RLJ Entertainment and AMC’s Shudder

Steven Yeun is going to be dealing with a lot worse than The Walking Dead‘s walkers in the upcoming action-horror hybrid film, MAYHEM. The project comes to us from director, Joe Lynch. The man behind such genre busting movies like the cult classic slasher sequel Wrong Turn 2: Dead End, the single location action survival movie starring Salma Hayek, Everly, and most recently, episodes of the Blumhouse Youtube Red Christmas horror anthology series, 12 Deadly Days. And fortunately, we may not have to wait too long to witness the MAYHEM personally!

MAYHEM is the story of an attorney played by Yeun, wrongfully fired by his bosses at the exact same time an airborne pathogen effects the high-rise office, locking everyone in under quarantine. The virus causes those infected to lose complete and total impulse control and act out their darkest desires and animalistic impulses on anyone and anything in their path. Now he must team up with a fellow survivor played by Samara Weaving, of The Babysitter, and fight their way through the contaminated offices- or die trying.

Deadline broke the news today that RLJ Entertainment, partnering with AMC’s Shudder streaming service finalized a deal at the Cannes Film Festival following its premiere at SXSW and will be bringing MAYHEM into theaters and on-demand later this year. This to be followed by a streaming release on Shudder in early 2018.
