The Iranian animated horror short The Servant is getting quite some buzz at film fests around the country, winning two awards, one for Best Short Animation at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival and Best Animation in the College Competition of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.
In the nine-minute black and white short, a writer captures a cockroach and instead of killing it uses the creature in servitude, but that decision turns out to be the wrong one as the bug has plans of its own.
Directed by Farnoush Abedi, the film has traveled the globe and has made quite an impression on viewers.
Farnoosh Abedi was born in 1985 in Isfahan. With more than 20 short animated films and TV series and documentaries under his belt, The Servant seems to be his breakout hit.
