I think the real question here is, what has taken this long to get a Haunted Mansion restaurant in the parks?
Based on the wildly popular ride with a hint of horror behind it, rumors are swirling today about a possible themed restaurant to hit the Walt Disney World Orlando resort. As first reported by the Orlando Weekly who sourced the Magic Forums as the info’s origin, states that while there is no timeline as to when this will happen at this moment, but that a Haunted Mansion Themed restaurant is on it’s way to the Magic Kingdom.
In that case, I foresee a trip to Florida in the future.
While this has to be confirmed by Disney officials, a themed restaurant catering to the horror ride at Disney isn’t a far stretch by any means, as the company loves to take every advantage available to market the hell out of their products. Just over a year and a half ago, the Magic Kingdom opened the Jungle Cruise-themed restaurant, The Jungle Skipper Canteen; and it’s no coincidence that a Jungle Cruise Disney film starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, is coming soon on top of it.
With the Haunted Mansion as popular now as it’s ever been, with news of a supposed movie coming from Guillermo del Toro and the Foolish Mortals Fan Documentary premiering this Summer, now would be as good as time as ever to offer up dishes such as the Hat Box Ghost Burger, or the Madame Leota Milkshake. I’m just throwing dish names out there, so forgive me if they sound dull. I’m no restauranteer, my specialty is just stuffing my face.
So if this definitely happens, it looks like I’ll be hitchhiking my ass to Orlando as soon as the official word comes.
