If you’re like most people, you’re eagerly awaiting the release of Stranger Things season two on Netflix on October 27th. What is there to do in the meantime? Well, the first season is still up on Netflix, so you can watch it all again, which might not be a bad idea to keep it all fresh. Several fan-made games have popped up around the internet, but what about something official?

If you have a smartphone, you can download the official Stranger Things mobile game! Made by the company BonusXP the company that also made the games Monster Crew and Cavemania, in partnership with Netflix, Stranger Things: The Game is everything you would expect from a series built on being retro. The look and music is clearly based on early video games, and invokes memories of such games as The early Legend of Zelda series and Secret of Mana.

In the game, you get to explore the town of Hawkins, Indiana as just about all the main characters, starting as Sheriff Hopper and unlocking the boys, and Nancy who all have special abilities to allow you to tackle the various puzzles and enemies. You’ll also visit the Upside Down, wander through Hawkins Lab, and make your way through Mirkwood forest. The game does take a few liberties, as one might expect, in order to provide fun and challenges. Nancy doesn’t take her baseball bat to an owl in the show, for example. But don’t worry, there are still waffles to be found and had!

You don’t have to wait for this either, the game is out now on iOS and Android, and it’s free! So what do you think? Will the official game make the wait easier to bear, or will this only heighten your anticipation for the new season?
