Back in May, news broke and made our heads spin faster than you could utter Pazuzu as word was received that The Exorcist season 2 was greenlit; and fans couldn’t have been happier to see the return of this most excellent series that went from underdog to critically appraised all over the world, despite drops in ratings toward the end of the first season.
Mews coming straight from the show’s official Twitter account today announced that the series that has given the demon Pazuzu life again will return to its FOX home, will return to the small screen Friday, September 29th at 9/8c.
However, as stated in an earlier report here at iHorror, the Rance clan will not be the main focal point of the second chapter in the series, but rather a new family in turmoil. However, that doesn’t rule out some cameo appearances from Geena Davis and company. The demon exorcising priests from season one Alfonso Herrera, Kurt Egyiawan, and Ben Daniels will return once more for a new tale of terror in what the showrunners proclaim will open up a terrifying new chapter in The Exorcist universe.
