Horror Movie News and Reviews

IMG_9825(NOV. UPDATE) Well we are coming to the end of the year and thought it’s time to talk about what the best horror films we have had this year in 2016. <TRAILERS INCLUDED>  Here is a list of the 10 best horror movies of 2016 so far. Take note I haven’t seen some of the mainstream horror films yet like  THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR, OUIJA: ORGIN OF EVIL & PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES. However, for the most part I have seen everything else out there in 2016, good and bad. So let me know what I missed and what I need to check out before the year ends.

14. The Witch

This mainstream horror film delivers in its creepiness and the slow burn of the scenes makes you sink in your seats and cover your eyes. In 1630 New England, panic and despair envelops a farmer (Ralph Ineson), his wife (Kate Dickie) and four of their children when youngest son Samuel suddenly vanishes. The family blames Thomasin (Anya Taylor-Joy), the oldest daughter who was watching the boy at the time of his disappearance. With suspicion and paranoia mounting, twin siblings Mercy (Ellie Grainger) and Jonas (Lucas Dawson) suspect Thomasin of witchcraft, testing the clan’s faith, loyalty and love to one another.

13. Darling

The woman in this film gives Patrick Bateman from American Psycho a run for his money, this bitch is crazy! A lonely young woman (Lauren Ashley Carter) descends into madness when she becomes the caretaker of a mysterious New York mansion that has a troubled past.

12. Green Room

Though I feel this film is more thriller then horror, there is some gore moments and some intense scenes, that this film deserves a look at from the horror fans. Members (Anton Yelchin, Alia Shawkat) of a punk-rock band and a tough young woman (Imogen Poots) battle murderous white supremacists at a remote Oregon roadhouse.

11 . Baskin

If you ever wonder what hell is like, well with this gory gem of a horror film, you find just that out! Scary to the bone. Policemen (Gorkem Kasal, Ergun Kuyucu) face a night of horror in a subterranean labyrinth after answering a distress call.

10. Cabin Fever

I know a lot of you will disagree that this made the list, and it was to early for a Cabin Fever reboot. But I felt like I was watching these kids for the first time getting infected by a gory virus they didn’t want to have, I loved it like I had never seen the other films in the franchise.

9. Intruders

This movie has some great twist that gets it on my list of the best of 2016, well acted by the female actress in the film as well. Anna suffers from agoraphobia so crippling that when a trio of criminals break into her house, she cannot bring herself to flee. But what the intruders don’t realize is that agoraphobia is not her only problem.
